Do I have to pay if I volunteer for an event? No. However, your task may not have you in the function room or able to partake fully of the event. For instance, if you volunteer to help at a meal you do not get a meal unless you have registered and paid for the meal. |
Where do I report for my volunteer shift? Our volunteer centre will be set up in the lower level of the Telus Convention Centre building. The room number is Telus 103. All volunteers should report here to check-in and receive instructions. |
I notice the host hotels are expensive. Are there cheaper ones in Calgary? Yes, there are other hotels in Calgary that are cheaper. However, they are located outside of downtown. A quick Google search for "Hotel Village Calgary" will give you a list of hotels near a C-train station that stops directly outside the convention centre.

I have been assigned as a member of the airport welcome committee. Will I have to drive delegates back and forth from the airport? No. Your duty at the airport will be to greet delegates as they arrive and direct them to the various transportation services. You will be provided with free parking at the airport during your volunteer shift. |
I have been assigned 2 volunteer duties. I would like to do more. Is that possible? Yes. As we assign volunteer duties we will begin by assigning 2 or 3 duties. As we get closer to the Convention we may offer additional assignments to those who have indicated interest. |
